I had discussed this option but wasn't sure the advantage. Holder the harmonic balancer from spinning was not the issue. It was busting the breaker bar. Although I did not think of going to 3/4. Maybe should have.
I had the same issue. I gave up when the socket I had in the torque converter cracked. Might have tried making that SST though. I figured it got off lucky, not doing damage. Took it to a shop with a big impact gun and it rattled right off. Only bonus, I now own a 3/4 breaker, great for taking off LCA bolts and whatnot.

Installed the Tom Woods double carden front driveshaft.

No more noise or vibrations 😀

250k engine refresh continued. Kept pulling parts and got the VC gasket back on.

Removed some trash at a local wheeling spot called Big Fork. This is a tiny amount of trash compared to all that's out there but the one area we worked on looks a lot better at least. May need to get an offroad trailer for the 80 if the efforts get serious :)

Good job

I can't speak for TN but I spent a year in GA back in 2013. It was so beautiful but there was so much trash everywhere. I was blown away by the liter situation in GA. It really made me appreciate Utah. Now I always try to pick up any trash I do come across.

I commend you for your efforts. We should start a new sticky thread, what trash did you clean up with your 80 this weekend.....

@leonard_nemoy we've lived here for about 5 years now and I'm still not used to how trashed many areas in TN are. We often go to N. GA or WNC as they are generally better cared for. The area around Chattanooga is beautiful though with many clean areas and mostly respectful people.

The trash with your 80 thread idea is a good one and next time I pull a load out I'll get a picture of my 80 with it to start that thread, if it doesn't exist already. I think that off-roaders are best suited to clean up some of these areas that are challenging to access as we have the capability to get there and to haul a relevant amount of garbage out.

If anyone in the region ever wants to come to Chattanooga to do some trash removal I'll be glad to show you where to find plenty. Further, if anyone wants a garbage removal challenge there are cliffs where folks pushed boats, appliances and lots of garbage off. I could see a coalition of climbers, trucks with quality recovery gear and trailers along with cooperation at a local dump combining to get that crap out of the woods but it wouldn't be easy. There are also large rocks covered in spray paint for yet another type of challenge, etc. Like I said above, 10 bags is a tiny amount of trash compared to what's out there.

After much calling around I found that everyone only had the very cheapest weakest Interstate Battery in stock. I got tired of calling and went to AutoZone's website where I could pick out the equivalent battery to the one I wanted, see it in stock at my local store, and purchase it so that all I had to do was walk in, drop my old battery off and collect my new one and the core charge. Done and done.

The snow and cold weather have moved on from Texas. It was minus 2 on Monday and today it was almost 70F. Took kiddo back down to the school parking lot to play with his Traxxas RC car again and he learned to drift it. Looks like we'll be going through some tires on that thing. He figured out he could get out of the wind and drive the RC car all over the place from the comfort of the cargo area of the 80. He looked pretty happy sitting in there tearing it up.

My brother has been modifying this bumper for me over the last few months. This weekend he moved my hi-lift mount and added the rotopax mount as well.
I was going to purchase a DIY kit from another company but it’s now been modified the way I want with a lot less cash.

Welded up some more of the bumper I'm designing from scratch and also took some highway roller shots. First time stick welding...only have minimal MIG experience. Either way I'm happy to be making my own design. Hoping it turns out like I envision it.

Still need to cut away some of the flat bar and puzzle piece around the winch plate/fairlead hole which is hidden in the pic by the new pieces I put together tonight. Then I need to drill out the clevis holes and add some stuff then fit a winch and some pipe.

After years of suffering burst bursas in my knee caps from various sports injuries, every time I kneel on the back hatch I feel it & worry I may rupture a bursa again. I finally got it together to pull the Wagongear lid, remove the edging, and reinstall with a foam track pad - the same you’d use on a surfboard or SUP deck. I just wish I’d done it sooner! Sometimes it’s the simple things.

Great job! The club here did this on Saturday too. The buckets are for the nails left behind from pallet fires. Bud Light Blue is still the official color of gutter trash around here.
