Bit of 80 content. Spotted this dude several times across the peninsula while in Baja.

Installed new battery. 75mo pro-rated 2yr warranty can’t beat it for $95.

Nice build, I like the decals...
That passenger coil is installed wrong... it's clocked 180* degrees out. Just saying.

Ya you are right in that pic. I think that was before we swapped springs side to side. I got well over 8,000 pics on my phone so that pic must have been before we swapped coils.

The Cruiser came to us with the lift installed. Radius arm bushings were installed wrong and springs were installed on the wrong sides as well. We also added a sway bar drop when we flipped springs side to side because under droop the driveline was contacting the sway bar.

Good eye though! Customer is from out of town and hasn’t picked this one up yet but it is dialed and ready to go for him.

Cheers

Oh ya, not decals or a wrap on this one, it has been painted with this scheme. Also done before it came to us.

Doing an axle rebuild and repair. Found some fun damage. Now I’m trying to figure out if the damage to the knuckle ball turns this project from repairing to replacing the entire axle.

The axle damage at the trunion bearing is likely a result of the steering arm nuts coming loose.

Installed the CDL switch! Only pain was that mine is a 40th Anniversary Edition and the stupid "wood trim" made it a bitch to get the Security switch out and relocated to the bottom left, and then the CDL switch doesn't fit quite flush (but it's in place and doesn't pop-out). I'm about to order some bulbs to replace the HVAC bulbs that have burnt out, so next time I pop off this piece I'll borrow my girlfriend's hair dryer and get that top most wood trim piece off so that the CDL switch will sit flush.

30 mm sandwich panels. We had been able to carry the box easyly with 4 people.
The weight of the car after the conversion was 2300 kg = 5070 lbs. (Empty box, minimum of fuel, empty subtank, with bumpers and winch and 5 33"s.) Lighter than the base before the cut.

what is the thickness of the wall and do you know the total weight of that box

What's your take on that proclips.com piece? How sturdy is it? Think it would support a large iPhone (11Pro Max)?

666....wait that is 666.6!

That’s 1,666.6 miles on the new 1FZFE in my 95. A bit more I am sure, 33’s and stock gears.

@OTRAMM cat back just got finished, man I am soooooo temped to finish the full top to bottom new engine off with an OEM y-pipe and cat. 🙄😂

This Magnaflow I got for it looks like crap honestly. I am not sure I can put it on with a brand new OEM engine and Ryan’s absolutely beautiful cat back. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Cheers

Yes for sure. I have the Scosche magnet applied to the inside of my phone case (Pixel 5) and it doesn't move at all. Not as big as a Pro Max, but the magnet is solid. The PO had the proclip, I just left the mount and bought the magnet set since I have vent magnet in my other car.

The FJ Cruiser wheel is narrower than stock and has more backspace than stock. The net result is you have narrowed your track by by almost 1 3/4 inches. The references I find list a minimum rim width for this tire to be 8.5 inches. You will be fitting a tire with a 10.2 inch tread width on a wheel with a flange-to-flange width of 8.5 inches. You will have quite a crown in that tread unless you really drop the air pressure. Your call. View attachment 2493727

A continuation of the conversation down a parallel path...

OEM wheels are 8x16 ET14. I was surprised to see in looking at a 315/75/R16 BFG KM3 that the minimum width is 7.5" per Discount Tire.

How confident would you be in that 7.5" width while avoiding a large crown? I ask as it looks like specs of a potential wheel I would like offer it in 7.5x16 ET0 (about 1.1" increase in track if my napkin math lines up). The wheel is also offered in a 8.5x17 ET0, but my 16" tires wouldn't fit too well....
