Finished my drawer system today... Was a fair amount of work to get right but enjoyable nonetheless. One long (regular length) drawer and one shorter drawer to accommodate 10" sub. Got the local metal supplier to shear me a few slide in dividers out of aluminum and lined the drawers with raptor liner. Welded up brackets on top of the old 3rd row brackets to support the wings & welded blind nuts to secure the tie downs. Time to load up the tools!

looks fantastic man! I'd be proud of that.

Valve cover gasket, plug tube seals, distributor o-ring, pulled off the factory running boards and pulled the third row seats.

Next step of my P0401 resolution...swapped out the EGR valve. Easy once I realized I needed to remove the studs from the intake manifold. Just drove 30 miles rounds trip and no CEL.

I replaced the brakes on my Subaru today and took the Land Cruiser to get smogged, bad news it failed :(
oh thanks for the reminder! My tags have been expired since May. lol

Finally finished up on getting the LX head gasket repair done. Ordered as much new as I could remember to, but always seem to remember just one more thing I forgot right after I would place another order.

New radiator mounts and new fabbed trans cooler lines using the old insulation off the stock lines.

Used a piece of old radiator hose as protection on the pass through.

Tried to start her up, nothing ... realized I forgot to plug in the MAF, tried again ... nothing. Saw I had no CEL on key rotation, so I swapped out the fusible link, still no CEL. I had pulled the EFI fuse as I had done on the other 80 after the head gasket to rotate the engine for oil pressure w/o firing. Put it back in and it fired right up ... whew ...

Then it started hella screeching very loudly, shut it off in a panic. Try it two more times and I see I have zero oil pressure, but noise doesn't seem bottom end. Think I finally sorted the issue ... I think ... the sub-harness for the oil pressure sending unit was badly corroded when I removed the old unit. I think the connection is bad and not sending any info at all. The pump being mechanical it should make some pressure right?

I removed the belts and the screeching stopped, so either the alternator or the new water pump. Turns out I have likely learned that you should NOT hot tank the alternator, fairly certain that is the source. Ordered a new one and some other bits and now waiting for delivery. Hoping for a simple fix.

All other signs were good, no leaks anywhere as of yet, but it only ran for a minute so far.

I'm starting to prep for my install of a 2nd battery and this weekend I relocated the windshield washer reservoir using @Delta VS relocation bracket. When I picked up my LC in early September, the fender flares were removed, the holes were plugged, and the brackets were missing. It took awhile for all of the parts to arrive but I was finally able to get the flares installed this weekend.

I'm sure it's too early to tell yet but how do you feel about the difference between 295's and 315s?
It is a big tire. The 295’s were big. But I feel the industry has moved towards bigger and more aggressive. So these 35’s even though they are an all terrain, when you stand next to them may as well be an M/T. They are wide and beefy and have big treads. But they are dead quiet in the highway. Maybe because my old tires were petrified! In terms of power and handling and such? No different in daily driving. The test will be this winter in the sand and some elevations to see if the power is down.

Took the family exploring the desert outside of Joshua Tree NP. Had a great time.

Logging road/snowmobile trail drive after we went and looked at the piece of land we bought.

Beautiful autumn day in Nova Scotia!

I like flares and your unstall is nice and clean. Did you paint them too?
Well done.

Nice work, the true measure of a mechanic's megabucks is a well thought out diagnosis. That's when you really know your truck. Nice clean install, I can tell you put in time and effort.

What a weekend it has been, my daily has been taken out of the action due to a rusted through hardline in the brakes so the 80 gets to be my daily for a week. So what better thing to do but make it more comfy; got the landtank seat extensive brackets installed. Wow, it is a whole new world in the driver seat (being 6'2" hasn't been the most comfortable experience). Sorry no pictures as I was hard grinding and cutting away at 11 pm at night creating a hell of a light show for the neighbors.
But I do have some of the good stuff to offer for the people; my @TRAIL TAILOR skid plate installed. Simple and gives me piece of mind that the underside will be nicely protected. Beefy is an understatement for this thing and painted with JD Blitz Black. All new hardware as well and can confirm the bolts to the frame came with what I remember reading as possibly green threadlocker on them? Was a single bead of it the whole length of the threads on each bolt. No picture for them unfortunately.
