Towed a 1984 jetta coupe from St. George to Utah.

Had to take it slow between St.G and Cedar, spent most of my time at 65mph after that. Got 12.3mpg between Cedar and Orem with dolly and a ton of steel behind me. Not too shabby i guess.

Went to make a parts list to rectify issues needing immediate attention. New auction purchase. It's my duty to purchase these rigs out of the inop sales and put them in good hands. Even with my little studded snow tires on it is 3" taller at the tow hitch. I often feel my rig is "normal". This one Needs a left side knuckle rebuild and two studs that are missing. Reason for it being in the tow sale. Near perfect cloth interior . Peeling clear coat and 175k. Well taken care of $2400 and sold to a good friend.

Weekend isn't over so i upgraded the horn section.

IMG_20140202_161510_040.jpg

300hz and 500hz hella supertone horns salvaged from a 2004 subaru wrx sti. What is it with jdm guys and euro horns?

anyway they were cheap and they work and i didn't need red horns behind the grill anyway. Some summer day i might hit them with a wire brush and repaint with blitz black. maybe.

since the factory horn harness is the only undersized and flimsy thing I've found on the truck so far they have a bosch style relay hanging out by the headlight, with it's own 16awg 5A circuit directly to the battery.

In the middle there is the 150A continuous rated solenoid for my 2nd battery install, not yet complete.

to the left is what the kids call a star ground. Each component is grounded to that screw, and the left-most wire on that screw goes to the ground point on the fender.

It all just barely fits.

It's a JDM spoiler, but I don't think they are made any more. User MOT would know :)

Thanks, I know I want one, gotta find it.

Actually it's his DIY kit that I bought here off another mud member. It had the hardware but no lumber. Apparently the most valuable pieces are the heavy duty slides.

Long story short, I attempted to build the box and after $90 of plywood all I needed was the drawers. Turns out my wood was warped. Took it to a local cabinet shop and they made the drawers with fronts, gave the hinges, made additional side supports and installed it all for me.

$150 for the kit off mud
$90 for plywood
$267.19 for the cabinet shop.

$507.19 my total damage

Plan on coating it with some Monstaliner

Very impressive off camber on the rig behind you...

Went around the local mountains collecting mud and admiring the views.

I'm going to guess because we can't get 70 series in the US. Or at least nothing newer than 25 years old

did they not make 70 series troopy's before 89? I thought you should be able to bring them in now, and I should be able to bring in 100 series diesels from oz here now for our 15 year rule. :meh:

Yeah we can get the older ones imported.

Yes, this toyota of 70 series of my acquaintance about 2004 of release.
And many fans of this model of Toyota bought new 70 series, but this year at the state level forbade maintenance and import of machines on environmental standards.
