What car did you pull those visors from? they look like they install nicely

Similar vintage LS400, I think it was a 95-97. There were (4) LS400's on the yard only one was a direct fit. I got lucky on the color, too.
Just make sure to cut the light cord above the connector, that way you and preserve both the old connectors and the new ones. Correction it was a 1999 LS.

I went back for the steering wheel. I hope it fits. Narrator: It did not fit.

the 1999 LS400 great for visors, terrible for steering wheels.

It was a balmy 29°f here in The Ohio so picked up on my quest to sort out a code 52. I think I found the culprit:

Clearly I did a sh’t job on the wiring last time I was in there. And also explains (hopefully) why my code 52 came back two weeks later.

Changing this wire ranks up there with the PHH and perhaps I was too busy cursing that I glossed over this part of the wire. Anyhow I opened up my harness a little to lengthen the visible area, found the above, then cleaned it and dialectric greased it and finally put a little more heat shrink. Fingers crossed this works.

This weekend I finally got to test drive it. Lo and behold the cel code 52 was not resolved:bang::bang::bang::bang::frown::cry:

Frustrated and feeling sorry for myself, I returned to forums researching the issue and realized that I’ve foolishly been working on the wrong sensor. I had the 52/55 codes backwards. So in other words I’ve been chasing the wrong knock sensor issue for the past year plus. D’oh! At least I was able to clean up my sh*t job on the unnecessary wiring on the rear knock sensor.

Later this afternoon I’ll be back under the hood hopefully solving this once and for all in the very near future.

Very Nice
Where in your beautiful country is that ?
But there's a Landy in your group !
"I'd rather push my Cruiser than drive a Landy" Marwanium, Book XVII, verse 354.

The Place we were at was the Transkei in the Eastern Cape. It's a very rural part of SA.
As for the Land Rover. 100% agree with you. Like all of them It gave trouble on this trip.

It wasn't this weekend but two weekends ago I removed the OME caster bushings, installed OEM bushings, and installed the Landtank 2.5" caster plates. I cannot recommend these enough, what a serious improvement in ride quality. I went from a measly .5 degrees of caster with the the OME caster bushings to 2.2 degrees with the plates. I have zero vibrations with this set up now. I installed these right before a ski trip and I don't know how I would've been able to drive the 9+ hours after work to get up to the mountain without them. Thank you @NLXTACY and @landtank for the customer service for getting these plates to me before the trip.

This weekend I flush mounted my rear view camera, I am very happy with how it turned out, no more camera hanging over the license plate look for me!

I've had a dim or hit and miss third brake light on my '97 for a little bit. I checked for cracked wires, but everything looked to be good. Over the summer, I picked up a complete upper hatch to replace my current rusty one. The "new" hatch does need one spot repaired on it before it goes on the Cruiser, so I just took the third brake light off of it, hoping that it was better than my current one. It was! I now have a fully functional third brake light and a spare to tinker with. Not an exciting job or mod, but I feel a lot better driving around!

Drove up to MA and picked this up from @landtank

Thanks Rick! OBTW the green paint on his 80 looks even better in person.

Nice approach.:)

Much improved approach angle. Frame needs minor cutting to tuck the bottom of the bumper in tight but it’s something I really dig about the bumper. Enough surface for good strong protection but still good clearance.

A,

Isn't that the Bink's... Underdawg bumper?

Shared this in my “I need a bumper” thread but I sorted out the replacement for my ARB bumper. Big thanks to Carl (@ILean)for the design and for cutting the pieces. Brought home the parts and welded it up over the weekend. Little different tube design than what Carl did on his own but I think this will work well for me. Need to bolt on the ComeUp fairlead and call it good.
