Parked on my hill and burped the coolant, went for a spin, checked everything over and went for another drive. So far so good, no crunching or grinding noises and all fluids staying on the inside. Head gasket and timing chain slippers - DONE.

Love those wheels!

Made these RLCA skids for the 100 series guys, thinking about them for the 80s.

Can be bolted on (drilling and attaching w/self tap bolts required) or weld on. These will work with stock or aftermarket arms, up to a 2.5" Johnny Joint.

This is the handmade prototype and is headed to the laser cutter for production.

Any 80 interest?

J

Got the Blue Sea mounted and hooked up to switched power. So far I have only installed a 12v plug and USB setup inside the center console and on the back of the center console.

Like everyone has said that has installed one...absolutely nice to know where to hook something up now. Now I don't have to worry when adding things.

I didn't ground the Blue Sea bc I am grounding each accessory wherever it will be mounted.

Looks just like the Narva one I got, 12 fused outputs in two banks of 6, and 12 return attachments with a common connection, such a good idea having everything at one central location. I'm using the two separate positive input banks for running off secondary battery, and running off tertiary battery/solar, so anything that needs to stay on can come off the solar side

That's a great idea, I'll have to swap out my single 12v Blue Sea block for a homemade version of the double positive input setup. Maybe I should just buy one of these.

Thanks
Those lights look like they were OEM. Are there cups in those cutouts? What model are they?
Thanks. OEM. Yes, if OEM is 3" exhaust pipe and a pair of cheapo's off amazon. I added more pics in my build thread below.

NC LX450

As I suspected...

No blown HG but definitely something going on in the top end. Hoping it warms up soon...

How many quarts did you add during that 5,000mi interval?

Looks like 4 qts in 5,500 miles. Burning some oil huh?
IIRC these engines had a 300,000 mile before overhaul useful life. Someone correct me but I think Toyota sells the "overhaul" ones that are slightly larger sized pistons and/or rings.

That's great! That's a HUGE job. Damn chain guides. Have to take most motor apart.

40 bags of mulch, beating last year's record of 36. Have to leave some room so I can beat the record next year.

The bags weigh around 40 pounds, she rode nice and smooth

Did it on Friday so I could wheel on the weekend;)

Replaced all my old rotted exhaust hangers to get everything back to tight like it should be.
They have lasted for 4 years so I replaced with the exact hangers. Should be good for another 4 years:D

Yeah, I've got a spare motor I'm starting to tear apart and rebuild. It has 153k miles on it. Allegedly. I'm going to have the top end looked at and make a decision on that one. Meanwhile I'm going to drive this one and see if she blows. I don't think she will.

I'm burning oil but also have a small leak at the pan.

I missed that. I just find it odd they will run a report against averages with that being a variable.

They can tell by how often I added oil. I gave them a detailed list of the date and miles I added oil.

And the shrapnel wouldn't burn or leak out.

Pretty cool science type stuff how they figure this.
