Are all the Sacramento mudders safe? @surfpig @Cruiserdrew

I live in the foothills east of sac: consider this a standing invite to any mudder displaced by flooding or evacuation - youre welcome to stay at my place while you get things sorted.

Not the weekend officially (but I was snowboarding). I finally did the "7-PIN-7" mod today. The PO had already added the dash switch.

Half hour maybe. I also switched the position of the gas cover and hood release levers while I was in there. Seems more intuitive to me now. Of course, now I'll spend the next year relearning myself of that little change I made.

I think they changed it from 92 to 93. When I got my 93 I kept popping the hood instead of the gas tank. It drove me nuts! So I switched it. Much better.

Lights and stuff

Unfortunately my father passed on Thursday and I was unable to attend. I heard there were a few good sessions this year. Glad to know there are some more O'Reilly Team Members out there with good taste in vehicles.
Sorry for your loss.

Thanks for the compliment. I love my 80!:)

Cleaned my headlights up, was getting water inside. I never ran the depo housings before doing the projector retrofit so I'm not sure where the water was coming from. I sealed everything in back up with silicone last time this happened and still got water so I extended the breather hoses that came on them from the factory. Before they were little 90 degree bits the size of macaroni.. I put several inches of vinyl hose on and goose-necked so hopefully this fixes it.

Went exploring

What brand/model rims and size tires are those?

Possibly the first wheels I've seen that have me considering replacing the stock ones..

Pulled the front springs to set it on bump stops in preparation for engine mount placement. Wanted "worst case scenario" for axle/tie rod/oil pan clearance.

For now the bump stop spacers are left out. If the bigger (8qts) LS3 pan doesn't clear as-is, I'll install the 2" spacer I have sitting on a shelf.

Oh and the hi-lift was perfect for this job. The weight of the axle and tires on the ground kept the truck from wanting to fall off sideways..

how about that stinkbug?

M715s are awesome! I learned to drive off road in one when I was a kid. You can't beat a ragtop fold-down windshield pickup. Thanks for the pic.

On my 80, I just washed and waxed away the salt from the last storm. It still cleans up nice.

Got the bumper primed in red oxide. I kinda like it like this. I was going to paint it satin black. What do you all think?

Not the weekend but...

New radiator for the 92...

I think a couple dozen people learned to drive on this one. the reverse gear is halfway gone from the "grind it 'til you find it" method. haha

At first I thought this was one of those valineday day stunts!
No this is how she normally crowds my 80.

Cleaning the garage after a few weeks of putting my truck back together. Found these 2 bits in the corner. Nothing appears to not be working. I dont remember removing them.
Can anyone advise what they are ?

Those go in the rear doors and drape over the rod from the door lock to the door mechanism, making the locks harder to slimjim.

If you pull the door card and plastic liner you'll see a large hole that said rod threads through.. and a small plastic grommet below that where a course-thread screw attaches the brackets in your pic to the door frame.

Realistically? not imporant. Any thief would assume they are actually installed.. IF they wanted to get into the door of a 20yr old SUV vs breaking a window anyway.

Thanks @bloc . The strange thing is that i dont remember removing them. Maybe they fell out when the doors were off for painting.
