Drove it to Pedernales Falls State Park and did some fly fishing.

Then this happened on my way home...

My air pump seized and the belt broke. It also kicked the outer belt off, so I got a little taste of what it would be like to not have power steering. I wouldn't recommend it. @CaptClose came out with a spare pump and belt and helped me get it all on. As Ryan said, "We'll just pretend we're in Moab doing field repairs." Good practice at least!

Disconnected my AC.... Smiling, just went at the connections with a pipe wrench and when it started to hiss walked away. ;) Making room for for putting parts back, that and AC just isn't that important to me. The darn condenser was a nasty ugly skeleton anyhow.

I got the report right after he left you. Good guy you found so local to you! He's been a great help to me as well via text. Its so refreshing to find folks who are able to get their hands dirty when you need help. Mine seized but in my driveway while trying to figure out some other things. I ordered a pulley from JimC and its been all good from there. Glad you guys got it fixed up so quick and easy.

Congrats bro!! I have a very similar pic from when I did the 4BT swap.

It's my attempt at balancing out the six month gas with 93

Man... that park looks amazing. I haven't been out there yet. I don't want to hijack the thread, but how's the fishing there? Is this the river that they release rainbow trout into every year?

It's beautiful out there. The Pedernales River mostly just has bass, sunfish, carp, and gar. Fishing is normally pretty good out there from what I've heard. It was my first time to fish there though and it was really overcast and windy so I didn't have much luck. The Guadalupe River is the one I was talking about that has the big trout release (biggest in Texas I think.) I believe the first date is November 12th. They'll have several releases throughout the winter and early spring.

AC is a convenience not a necessity. Been driving Cruisers without AC in Alabama and other SE states for over 20 years.

Beautiful weekend in Northern Michigan. Salmon and Coho still running the rivers. Browns and Steelhead were to be found on the backside of every redd. Getting close to peak color. I hit the Platte, Betsie and Boardman Rivers on Sunday. On Saturday, I drove down to Ranch Rudolph to visit friends who were in town for the annual Onion Run - a weekend of trail riding, camping and music while they pick trash up along all the favorite trail routes up here. Lots of Jeeps....... I was the only FJ.

"New" to me battery tray thanks to @landcrusher909's friends (oops, blanking on his name), wire brushed it and primed it with a few layers and reinstalled it with battery. Added new Denso plugs and replaced VCG in my snazzy painted cover so I could use the starter to spin my crank into position.... Leaving the rest blank for now. Few of you already know.

Changed my Vortec Motor Mounts...

...with the motor still in the truck! Ditched my crappy AA mounts in favor of these beefy units from TLC that incoprorate the stock GM mount and are designed for their Erod kit.

Changing mounts with a complete engine in the truck was no fun and the TLC mounts were not a simple bolt/weld-in affair at all (maybe different if starting from scratch but I sure wasn't going to relocate my engine at this point). They took a fair bit of modification to make work with my setup but I'm happy with the result. There is far less vibration transmitted into the cabin at idle now and the ride seems smoother going down the road. I trust they will last much longer as well.

The mounts:

Here's one mated to the GM half of the mount:

Looks like time for a new diff breather tube. Lol...put it on the list!

Cheers!

Finally got myself a new floor jack and got under her to start mocking up the new exhaust routing and what not.
Also, came across this beauty while the wife and I were doing some shopping...

New wheels and tires. Ditched (sold) the stock steelies and MTs for 40 rims and caps with 33/10.5 ATs

Today I finally finished the rear wheel carrier I have been building for the past 3 or 4 weekends... made a TREAD mount for a trip up north starting next weekend, but will come up with another design as I'm not happy with how it looks. Gas struts hold the arms open, but I might swap them for struts with a greater Nm - will see how they go first...

Horribly familiar, those little F*****s are evil, I swear I winced when I saw your pic. Are planning on re-installing the gutted pump?

If I can get the 3rd little wing unjammed, I might use it. I'm waiting to hear back about a Jim C pulley from another member that was never driven with. Going to try a guitar string and "floss" it out. If I get it freed up before I hear about the pulley, I'll probably just use it. Are there any write-ups of people pulling these apart?

Good lord! Wait for a pulley! As much fun as you had taking it out (hope your de-smogged), you can easily double your cuss words per minute reinstalling it!

I've never seen one. Yours might be the second photo I've seen of the inside of one. Keep up the good work!
