What About Austin?

Hey, I'm considering moving to Austin in the spring. It seems to be a lively, fun, and relatively safe place to be. I have never visited, so all of my knowledge is secondhand, what can you guys tell me? My girlfriend and I enjoy being outdoors whether camping, hiking, or wheeling in the '60, but also enjoy an active nightlife accompanied by great live music. We have no children, so schooling and the like would not be a factor, just looking for a fun, safe place to live for a couple of years.

Austin is a good as anyplace in Texas. The Hill Country is nice anywhere down there.

Traffic reallu suks, but the live music and out doors activities are plentiful.
Cost of living is a little higher... I like it..
