First, I must say that I am a dogman, but the WKC Dog Show cracks me up.
Where do they source the "handlers?"

WANTED: Dog handler. Must be older fat woman with stovepipe Steinway legs and have an adequate assortment of clunky custom orthotic black shoes, bowser dresses/skirts and be able to choke a dog while attempting to run.

I'm sure they don't all fit that description, just most of them

Except many of the judges are similar in appearance. Would more viewers tune in to see J Lo walk the dog?? I don't know

Winning Dog Put Down after Attempting to Chew Handler's Face Off

NEW YORK---A sturdy dog named Rufus (Ch. Rocky Top's Sundance Kid) — tan with a strong wedge-shaped white snout — became the first colored bull terrier to win Westminster. His cousins in the terrier group, including a white bull terrier in 1918, have taken top honors 43 other times.

But sadly, the glory of winning turned into tragedy, as Rufus, overcome with excitement, began gnawing on the face of his handler. The dog was immediately taken down by a tranquelizer gun and euthanized.

I dislike these contests because they objectify dogs. Why treat them like they're some piece of meat. Dogs should be respected!

Seriously, who has every seen a dog in real life look like the ones in these contests? They're not an accurate portrayal of reality. No average dog could live up to the unrealistic standards set by these contests. The impact to the self esteem of the dogs has to be traumatic.

No. No dog shows. I think they should be banned.
