The fiancé got the UAMS OB/GYN residency that we were hoping for. So I'm moving from Russellville to LR in the next month or so. She has an apartment until June so we are house hunting now. I look forward to hooking up with you guys more often now that I'll be in town. If anyone has any leads on a good starter home <$175k or so, PM me. We are looking at west LR. I'm trying to convince the Mrs to look at Maumelle too.

Cool! You can join us at our newly announced monthly gatherings. Good luck house hunting but beware of Maumelle traffic. Ask Waldo.

Congrats! I'd also recommend against Maumelle as well due to commute traffic.

The house next door to me is for sale and fits your general criteria. I'll send it to you via PM. There are other houses for sale in my neighborhood as well.

Good for your fiancé. Depending on where you work and what your tolerance for traffic is, WLR can be a pain. I highly suggest doing a practice run from any house before you buy. I hope we have a big group on the 23rd.

Congrats you guys.. Oh c'mon, Maumelle isn't that bad. Traffic does suck though in the morning and 5pm. Mainly b/c you only have 2 ways in/out. But unless you find a job that's 2 min away you're going to be stuck in traffic no matter where you are.

I have found a way around the WLR traffic from Bryant and it isn't bad at all.

Hey Jason, I saw your announcement in the paper this morning. Congrats! I hope you find a place where you can work on your 40. best ty

Thanks for the link Josh. I think my fiancé actually looked at that one and wants me to maybe go with her and check it out again. Biggest problem I've run into is the lack of side yards at the houses we've looked at. I've got a boat, a 4 wheeler, and a 40 that has to come with me so I'd like to have a double gate to back some stuff into.

Thanks Ty! We are excited. Less than a month to go. I told her when she started searching for houses I needed a garage and a halfway flat driveway just so I'd have a place to work.

Jason, what are you going to do for a job here locally? I assume you aren't going to commute back and forth to Russellville...

There's enough width on the garage side of the house to put in a double gate. You'd have to move the fence/gate forward toward the street 10-15 ft to get 30ft of useable parking area behind it though. And remove a basketball goal, a crepe myrtle, and a few other non-essential bushes.

I have a double gate and just enough room that I can get my 60 into the backyard.

For the time being I will be commuting. The company I'm with has been nice enough to offer me a different position just to keep me employed with them. Moving forward, there may be an opportunity with them in Little Rock but I can't say much about that right now. Right now I'm just glad to have a job

Good to hear! It's nice to know they are willing to work with you. Maybe the drive won't be so bad going against the Conway to LR traffic...
I am going to be needing a couple of tires for my 4Runner soon, and would like to buy from you... Do you sell Bridgestone? PM me your number and I can text you the details...

So we bought a place in the Leawood area off of Cantrell. It's an older home in a quiet neighborhood and we are happy with it. Lots of updates have been done which leaves me minimal things to take care of like pulling up old carpet to reveal original hardwood and getting the yard back in shape. Good news is that I can get my duck boat through the side gate and the 2 car garage is heated, cooled, and wired for 220. We are mostly moved in but my cruiser is still in Russellville. I should have it down in the next couple weeks.
May has been a busy month with getting married, honeymooning, and moving. I'm ready to get settled in and start making the meetings and hanging out. Hope all is well with everyone.

Good news. Leawood is not that far from where I live. I wouldn't know what to do if I had a garage like that. Well, I do know I would have to build another garage for my wife.
