Is there anything that is needed to know that is different than mild steel?
Im looking to bend and weld up the exhaust on the 40, Im going from dual side dump to dual rear corner.
I will be using a Lincoln 175 220V welder.
Thoughts?
If this is in the wrong section, Let me know
Thanks

Gas welding is the way to go here.

I have no clue what issues the aluminum inclusions would make, if tried to weld it.
from a steel standpoint leaving the aluminum out of the equasion
a mig would be best.
A stick welder would be out any but the most skilled. IMOP
bottom line electric welding is not a good option in my opiniion.

Weld it like mild steel. It welds fine. The welds are now unprotected, though, and will probably rust.

Thanks guy's I should have mentioned it will be welded with a Lincoln weld pak 175 MIG.
My old aluminized exhaust is over 12 years old and the welds are in great shape, I will be using some of my old parts, Like the down pipes, Mufflers and a few other minor pieces.
