My 60 has a Jacobs ignition in it, and it's not hooked up, but I think I figured out what I need to hook it up.
I'm a computer nerd, so I want to A/B test the ignition to see how much difference it actually makes.
I'd like to toggle between it and the oem ignitin via a switch. In the cabin on the fly.
Controlling which get power in or points signal in is pretty easy.
Is there a way to hook up both coils to the dist, so I can just swap between them on the fly?
Like a, splitter coil to dist wire?
I not going to leave it like this, I just want to switch back and forth at various RPM and gears, to get a feel for what it really does, without stopping to switch the coil wire.
Also is this stupid for non obvious, reasons, like back feed might mess up my oem ignition?
I get it's a complete hack, it'll only be on for a few hours.
Is there a better way to achieve this?
