I got my new Garret Wade catalog and it has the single seam steel cans for fuel and water with spouts and gaskets as well now IN STOCK with no price increase from last time. Still $49 for the cans, $15 for spouts, and $5 for the extra gaskets if you need them.

I placed order for two more gas, one more water, one gas spout, and two backup gaskets this morning.

Check them out....

Wow....Thats some cool eye candy.....I like....I think I'll add that to my fathers day list....The OEM from Toyota are 200 bucks or so......I'm not that much of a stock nazi.....
Do you know if these fit the OEM tank carriers?

Just checked their site.....I ordered some woodworking tools from them a few years back....Had no idea they had other goodies.....

yes, Wedco was the most sought after and also same as NATO style...BLITZ was the original maker of Jerry Cans I think...so much in my brain is scrambled these days..LOL...The WEDCO are the standard NATO size used by others around the world. I have four of them now plus the water one...plus a couple of the cheaper copies from NORTHERNTOOL by Blitz for banging around first....but these are great buy. Some places you cant buy them anymore.

Only other place I have found them is through a local Briggs and Stratton Dealer but they are not out of stock and converting to the new EPA compliant ones.

I like the Wedco cans....Thats a super price too......I have 2 originals but wouldnt think of using them...They're not the greatest shape but they're cool.....

Jerry cans were originally German cans (US troops called Germans "Jerrys") that US military favored over the US issued cans....The US troops would grab them up and use them instead of the more inferior US cans they had from WW1.....They became the benchmark and as they say the rest is history....

Yeah but, will the Jerry can mounts on that site work with the Blitz cans?

The WEDCO and NATO style are essentially identical except WEDCO put a cap locking pin in their design but are same size which is SLIGHTLY narrower than the US GI versions. SO the WEDCO and NATO will fit in any US GI mount but I dont think the US GI sizes will fit in WEDCO.
The BLITZ was the original jerry can as I was wrong before....and is a bit larger but also apparently prone to leaking through cap sometimes....so I am not sure I would fill them until tested. I have both styles so will find out I guess soon. LOL

You can sometimes find the NATO ones online but there was a HUGE jerry can buyup recently that corresponded to the ammo and gun surge in sales due to the new president and a perceived horde mentality to get it before it is gone and for use in collapse of government.

If they have more will likely buy a couple more of the WEDCO next month as well as I dont like the new CARB compliant versions. If you want I can measure both types (WEDCO and BLITZ) tonight and tell the differences here.

I bought two Wedco Jerry cans at Harbor Freight Tools. They were on sale for $35.00 each and I had an additional 20% off coupon. Smokin deal. I think these cans normally cost over $50 each.

I should probably go back and get a couple more at this price!
