I was thinking about setting up an account for the SoCal 80's on one of the picture hosting websites that are free (Clubphoto, snapfish, etc). Me being the picture whore that I am would like to have access to more pics of our runs than in the past. I think that it would prevent us from having to email each other large files (are smaller files that are not as clear). We can simply log on and save to our computers from the site. I think that most of these sites require a small download of software in order to upload the pics. They are very easy and free to use. What do you guys think? i don't mind setting it up and posting the username/pw in our section (or pm everyone to keep it from being public). Since I will miss out on the Big Bear run I would love to set it up for those pics....that way i can atleast enjoy your enjoyment.

Not a bad idea Smit, I just wonder about the logistics. I am still a rookie in the grand forum skills game so perhaps not the best to comment but I wonder how we would determine who gets the user name/password to access, who controls it etc. We have always welcomed all who wish to hang with us so it would seem odd to limit who can access our group picture base, but then it would be odd to have it out for any and all.

It would have to be a pretty open account so that all could add pics whenever they wanted/needed to. Really no harm could be done other than someone posting a naked picture of their mother/sister from alabama (you get the picture) It would have to be one of those things that was monitored a little (very little). If we thought that we were being misrepresented at all then we always cancel it. It was just a random thought  and maybe I will just set one up, add all my pics, let you guys know about it and you can do as you please with it. If it is a dumb idea....well it wouldn't be my first, nor last.

I made one up and posted some pics as an example:

here is the link: http://www1.snapfish.com/welcomenpnu

username: ih8mud.socal80s@gmail.com
PW: woody

you can log in, add pics, view pics, order pics, etc.

I don't have a lot of pics on my work computer so I just added a few. I will try to add more later.

I was thinking that we could all use the site to share all of our pics from runs to mods, etc.

let me know what you think.

We will give it a go and see how it works out. Thanks for taking the initiative Smit.

got the CB photos, thanks a ton. I think I should be able to have the CB functioning by SNT. Even though I have never installed a CB before:confused: . Thank God for the internet.

PS if you need help with the CB let me know. It's about the only mod I've been able to do on my own

David,

I just looked at the pics....i really really love your rig. One of the nicest setups around. I see you used your ARB for the CB antenna mount. I plan to do the same and might have to come look at your setup before I do mine, if ya don't mind. How long Coax. cable did you need? I would like to get away w/ 9ft. but I dont think it will be possilbe. 18 ft will require some snaking.

Thanks for the kind words I'd like to take credit but Ammo and Todd B each have ownership...you can actually find their blood and sweat on the rig.

9 ft is going to be close but it should work depending where you mount the CB. If not don't worry about the 18 foot rule for our needs. There are countless CB threads in outfitting that touch on this subject.

cheers,
David...
