Let us show his progression:
-meets up with few CLC members, we musta made a good impression.....
-members start passing some $$$ his way..... fellow sold some tires:D
-he starts regularly attending meetings.....participation
-then he sends a few PM's out asking should he purchase a 40......HELL YEA!:whoops:

Its going down hill from here.....Chris I regreat to inform.....your now a addic.:flipoff2:

Fast Forward to today:

Chris & I leave to pick up his purchase.
Well after couple hours drive north we arrive in Booneville MS, Chris calls & were close to the cruiser location. As we approach he spots it....it looks good;p We arrive & look at it through a fence....still lookin good. The owner arrives & lets us in.....looking GREAT. Well after Chris & him exchange discussion the owner says take it for a spin. Chris says Clutchee go for it;p.....I lock the hubs, pull the ORION in LOW & take off for a 4' edge:grinpimp: This is when Chris wonders....should I have done this:eek: Slowly turning drivers front tire into the bank the truck idles up.......Chris you got a good one!

Then I turn to Chris & say its your turn.

Chris with hesitation jumps in & away he goes.....making the same edge look easy.:D
:bounce: After this I think he was hooked. :bounce2:

Congrats Chris on you new Toy!

Remeber Chris you were a wagon guy before...:grinpimp:

Well Its here!
Thanks Clutch for riding up with me to pick it up.
Since my 94, 80 series was picked up at Hallmark Toyota back in 96, lets just say this Land Cruiser purchase was a different experience.

EBAY, 500 miles and a 16ft trailer is much different than "Let me check with the sales manager and see if he will let it go for that."

I haven't been able to get into it yet, but its going to need right off the jump, tune up, belt, hoses, fluid exchange, frt hub rebuilds, mirrors and thats just what I found, I would assume that any 40 with very little history would have these needs.
I have filled it up with gas and put 20 miles on it so far and it has yet to die on me, it has cranked up ever time.
I have noticed that it is bad out of align, steering wheel off center and it feels sometime like the ass is trying to come around on it. Hopefully when we align it next week we can get this corrected or find out bas news.
I have found a good bit of rust, real bad spot behind drivers seat at the base of the rear wheel well, pretty bad.
Good bit of surface rust all around. Inside of roof pretty bad

Clutchee noticed new shackles needed to start

Bodean and Lash and other 40 guys will really pick this one to death and the $$$$ will keep climbing

But we're pregnant now and Daddy says we must get married, no turning back!

Clutchee and I found that it is a bad crawler and hopefully we will put it to good use

We gonna be aaaight! Just stay calm. let us get our hands on it and we will help you save some money. You don't have to fix everything right off the bat. Tony Martin says if you take him along on some rides that he will pay for half. Ask him, I aint lying! We can do most everything so don't worry!

later,

Chris put a plug over this....red arrow shows what to plug.:whoops:

Sure wish mine had been that nice when I trailered it home.

That's a great looking rig with some sweet mods already done. You are ahead of the game!

ENJOY

Literally warming up to the new addition to the family.

Spent the last couple of hours riding around Rankin and Simpson counties.
My two daughters enjoyed it alot all it cost me was 4 gallons of gas and two large Icees and we were off to the races.

Looking forward to getting into this 40 and finding all kind of surprises.

Gentlemen Start your wrenches!!!

Chris
