Storm Watch 2007 isn't even over yet, and I am already having issues.

I drove my 80 to work the other day, and when I started out from a stop I heard a slushing sound, like water rushing forward. It sounded as if it was coming from the rockers or lower door panel areas.

Any idea as to where this is coming from? Suggestions on how to drain the area(s)?

Thanks.

Robb,
sounds like your sunroof drains and/or the drains at the rocker panel are clogged. check under your rocker panels- there are rectangular slots in the metal that should be clear and open.

also try a long wire or something to go down the drain from the sunroof all the way down to the rocker area (norcal doug used a long plastic weedwacker whip)

search norcaldoug, norcalsam and his wife, teresa (tree) they had good threads w/ pics
good luck

I too have water on my passenger floorboard and I searched all the forums. According to the ones I read you have a problem with the little rubber plugs in the bottom of your rockers. Just pull the plugs and watch the water drain. Along with that there are very little slits that need to be blown out. Here is the link https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=129525&highlight=moon+roof+drains

I found that my windshield gasket is leaking, getting everything replaced on Monday. The water was draining from the bottom corners of the windshield pooling up on the floor boards. I also blew air through the drains on the moon roof clearing them out.

All these solutions DO work. I cleaned out all those little slits and no more water on the floorboards! Even after two weekends of rain dumping on the cruiser, which has been relagated to staying outdoors since she no longer fits into the garage! I found that a good sturdy zip tie worked best for me. After the zip tie I also used some good old compressed air to further clean out those slits.

Thanks!

I will have to check on these.

Gasket Sealent

Just a little more info on this. If you have water still coming in make sure that you have sealent on your window gasket. When my windsheild was replaced the tech did not use any gasket sealent. When I drove to Colorado and used my wipers and fluid you could watch it drain in. Went to a local dealer and they took care of this. Last night it rained and no more leaking! :D

check your windshield. my gasket was old -- water was leaking in from each lower corner (DS and PS).
