Voltswagon diesal question.

My freind stuck a new motor in a jetta(came with one already just a replacement) 4 banger turbo. Anyway at idle he says it sounds like a hairdryer is blowingok. This blowdryer sound is not consistent at all. Did something go wrong with the turbo install he wonders.
Sorry i cant supply more but he cant either, nevertheless, its also a mystery to him.

That noise is normal for a Voltswagon,if it was a Volkswagen i'd be nervous .

bad bearings on the turbo maybe? and that cause the engine to over fuel and cause it to fail?

Yea that and the timing belt broke.
