What are you using?

How much did it cost?

The good and the bad?

Vehicle mounted, or just plain ol video camera to use for capturing your buddys roll over on for future enjoyment..... :D

Plain old video, my kid is starting to play gigs with
his band and do some solo stuff at shows and I want to
record. Plus there is the wheeling vids too!

I am spoiled with nice gear from work. I use some outdated (for broadcast) canon xl1 with a viosport POV lipstick cam. Check out the last vid I did on youtube for wally.

That being said, any good miniDV cam can provide decent quality shots, I would stick canon or sony, though panasonic makes some nice stuff.

You want something that works well in low lux, as the gigs will most likely be dark.

DVD based cameras are not at the same resolution yet, and HD is unneccessary right now, the P2 or XD memory cards are VERY expensive.

What is your price range?

Can't really go wrong with a Sony.

Panasonic is worth a look as well. All the movies we watch at the theater are usually shot with Panaview, which is their professional stuff.

Hi Lane,

I have a JVC with 3CCD and I still think the color is only average. I subscribe to consumer reports so I logged on for you and took a screen shot of their latest ratings. I would go with a mini DV. HTH.

Thanks Pete.
