Anyone know how the Pick-n-Pull works in VB?
I want to get some leaf springs and understand that you have to pull the parts yourself. Just wondering how that would work for leaf springs since you would have to block the truck and leave the axles on the ground.

Thanks
Dave

Id have them roll it on its side or top. No way I m crawling under a cruiser in a dirt or gravel yard.. MIke

Yeah, its a Chevy Pickup but I'm thinking its probably not worth the effort.
They get $40 per spring according to the website. The springs appear to be $75-$100 at traditional yards.
So I might save 70-100$ but kill myself in the process.

Dave, most of the vehicle are sitting on the block so you have room to work on but be careful though. Make sure you bring a lot of pb blaster, gloves, and breaker bar, and goggles too.

About 10 years ago a friend ,alone did that. When he didnt come home his wife went looking for him. We buried him that week. MIke

depending on what size chevy springs your looking for it might be cheaper to get on CL or something of that sort.

also IF the truck hasnt been raped of the axles yet then yes you take what you want and leave the rest of it on the ground

There is also a nice Junk Yard on Bainbridge off Dominion blvd in Chesapeake. Nice guys and they love the old FJs. Just might cut you a killer deal if you are nice. I believe they will pull for you also.

Lookinf for 3/4 ton 63" 4+1 leaf. CL would be good if they are fresh from the doner Chevy, dont want any off a truggy or something.

Thanks, I'll give them a call.

I just so happen to have a set of those, alittle rusted up, IF when I sell the 86 the person that buys it doesnt want them. Ill get em to you

I've been to that one, Brian and I met Noel there. I think it was about 100 degrees that day. You should have seen the look on the waitresses face when we rolled into the applebees for some beer afterwards.

They are all sitting on top of welded wheels that are very stable and strong.

At the VA beach one we pulled a FF rear from a 96 Cruiser and other parts. We banged the hell out of that truck and it never budged. I go to the one here all the time also to pull little bits and pieces.

I've been doing the pull a part things since I started working on muscle cars at 15. 15 years later and over a 100 times i've never seen on so much as move when someone has been under it.

This is what I do to make sure each time, crawl inside the truck or rock it a little if for some reason how it moves spooks you then that is up to you and let it be.
