Last time I adjusted my valves, I had the intake air chamber off. However, I need to do another adjustment, how hard is it to remove valve cover with intake chamber still attached?

Not that bad. I've done a valve adjustment on my 62 3 times in the last month. Just pull the intake hose and all the hoses that attach to the valve cover, then pull the throttle and AT cable out of their attachment and remove the bracket that holds the cables. You need to remove an air hose as well. Once that is done, there is just enough room to sneak out the valve cover. Have a new gasket on hand.

The hard part on the 3FE is that the timing marks are very difficult to see, even if you paint them with a paint pen. Based on a tip from a fellow mudder, set it to TDC once, then mark the crank pulley right on the bottom-there is a nearby reference. Then adjusting the valves is much easier-line up your new mark on the crank pully, adjust 1/2 the valves, rotate 360 degrees and reset the other half of the valves. That avoids having to find the timing mark in the window which is practically impossible anyway.
