how do i get more vacuum psi i have 10. my new 75 2f with RV cam rebuilt crab runs very rough at all rpm's and idles poorly i have 115 psi in all 6 Cly what do i check next.

I'm not positive, but, I think that the hotter the cam the less vacuum one gets. especially with V8s. Maybe some one with a RV cam will comment. did you do a wet compression test?

First off, maybe a mod can move this to the 40/55 forum since this is specific to anyone with a 2F

Dido on the lower vacuum with the cam, but not that low. I have never used an "RV" cam, but 10psi is ridiculous. I think we are going to have to do some poking and prodding (it's gonna get nasty) to get the calicokid to reveal secret information on his engine swap.

He did say previously his head an block are mixed and matched, I think flat top pistons with a head intended for domed pistons. Could this result in enough decrease in compression to cause drivability problems?

So sir, whatcha have your timing set at?
With the top dead center line of your flywheel in the bellhousing window, what cylinder does the rotor point to?
Why is the sky blue?
Did you swap ignition components from your old 2F, or are you using ones supplied with the engine?

Maybe this will get us started, otherwise we will surely spot calicokid on the trail in a jeep.

my timing i believe is right that was checked a couple of times the ignition is petronx and rebuilt crab a Cali 74 I'm going to check for leeks this weekend i am new to wrenching and trying hard to get this done in the last few Mont's i have put in a h41 3speed t/c ball joints steering box I've been ditching work shouting of my phone off it has been fun till now sorry for the delay my puters been stuck on the 29Th for some reason i just learned about refresh button tanx for your support it meas a lot to me i will get back to you on sat.

Stock ignition timing isn't always best. I have a stock engine besides the larger exhaust, pertronix, hotter coil, and the timing is much better advanced about 4 degrees. Loosen up that knob on the side of the distributor and rotate it a bit while running, see what happens.

Your ignition and carb are probably golden, especially since they worked so well on your old 5 cylinder 2F.
