While pulling wires through the fire wall, I accidently broke off a hard plastic tube (about 3/16" diameter). The tube looks to go to the heater/ ac blower and goes through the fire wall to a vacuum hose. Does anyone know what this is fore? The HVAC all works and does not seem to rely on vacuum to control anything.

Distributor vent?

could be. In the engine compartment the vac hose comes off a device about 1/2 the size of a hockey puck- not sure what the part is. Tried to find a vac diagram but nothing shows this line. The hockey puck thing has another larger hose coming off it, and may have some more hoses- it is located between fire wall and the battery- above the oil dip stick area.

The closest "hockey puck" thing I can think of is the VCV for the charcoal canister. That is listed in emissions diagrams though. This is for an FJ80 though.
