My FJ 40.5 has a 4BTA Cummins with a Wabco Vacuum pump.

The brakes work fine but if I am idling in Stop and Go traffic they fade away after about 4 stops. I plan in installing a vaccum canister to increase my avaliable vacuum to help with this.

In searching for my problem, I found that some/most, but not all, brake boosters have a check valve in them. It is generally the white elbow that is pressed in the grommet at the brake booster. I am currently using an FJ60 Brake booster and there is no visible check valve. The nipple is welded to the booster housing.

Does the FJ 60 use a different check valve like maybe an inline?

Thanks

Here is the vacuum canister I picked up.

7" long 4" 7/8" diameter.

Three nipples.

In - Out - in Cab Gauge.

The Wabco pump does have a check valve in it.
