v8 swap in my 91 FJ80

Well guys its official im putting a 2005 vortec v8 and 4l60e auto in my 91 this ought to be a fun project but should yeild awsome results thoughts and help always appreciated

I was going to suggest Keith as a sounding board for problems, he is probably the Vortec guru in this group.

Are you doing a 4.8, 5.3, 5.7, 6.0?

Are you keeping it Drive by Wire or converting it to throttle cable?

They are great motors and probably one of the best gas motors made so far. The bottom ends have been know to survive 800hp on a regular basis. Pretty hard to kill as long as you keep oil in them.

Can't wait to see the results, I think you will be very happy, especially compared to either engine offered in the USA spec 80.

its the 5.3 im pretty sure and gonna use the toy t-case behind the 4l60e is the plan atm i bought the complete truck running with new tires and 99000 on the odo so im pretty happy and excited hehe cant wait to do this one. and prolly gonna convert it to cable throttle soon as possible less s*** to go wrong lol

ok so brought the donor home today hehe cant wait this should be an awsome swap and let me do alot of the things i want with my 80 not that i havent done already lol but will give me the tow power and should yeild some fuel economy as well
