Any interrest in going to Uhwarrie this weekend? Maybe Saturday or Sunday? I am up for either.

looks like there will be a couple of us there on Sunday morning. We should be at the outpost around 10:30 or 11:00 if anyone wants to meet there.

Eric and I went in our 40, Jason and his GF took his 80. We ran into a 60 on the trails. It was a lot of fun. Except for the Dusty roads going in, a good shower cured that problem.

There is talk about going back Aug. 5th. I think at this point there are 3-5 cruisers lined up to go.

If you guys would go on Sunday I'd join in. Saturday I'll be coming back from the outerbanks and might be kinda tight. I'd go with the FJC

from what I can tell guys it looks like it will be saturday for most of us. RK and Tym are both going to be there Saturday morning and I now have to work on Sunday. I think we are meeting at the outpost at 0900. Last weekend was my first trip there and I really have the bug bad, so I am sure we'll be taking more trips. Hopefully we can try to organize a large trip there in the near future.

There is still talk about a few camping Sat. night. From what I can tell they are going to see how the heat is Sat. and decide if they are going to camp.

Hey guys, I'll be zipping in town Friday and would love to hookup. 9am at the outpost Saturday morning? The 40 ant the 80 wanna come, but it all depends on which of the family wants to come along - dogs, kids and wife...all good sports.

The 80 is fresh off the CMCC in Pa last month and ready for adventure, but the 40 has a new bikini and might get jealous!

feel free to join us George. We would love to have more company.

Sorry I forgot about a couple of things my wife had me tasked out for. I did manage to get a few hours of wrench time though. Got the 2" spacers all the way around the 40. Sits squatty like a bulldog now on its 31 super swampers.

I am up for another time, though.

So, how did the Uwharrie trip go? Any pics?

The trip to Uwharrie was great, very little trail breakage. Eric (ERymer) did very well on his first shot a psuedo-hardcore trails (well, the best that Uwharrie has to offer) considering his near stock Cruiser. His wife Stacy was a trooper, even though the first obstacle had her vital signs spiking to the levels of a first time bungee jumper, ;). I broke my anti-wrap bar, again, sustained a little body and tire damage on Kodak Rock, and burned up my electric fan solenoid, again, none of which was a show stopper. RK had alternator trouble and had to run the trail out on battery. Benji was there in his 4Runner, always a great guy to have on a trail ride, he just makes it look too easy, and we had a couple of Sammurai guys as well. All in all a great trail ride, though next time I suggest someone converting a military trailer to a tanker and wetting trails ahead of us.

Unfortunately I have video, thanks to Eric and Stacy, but no pics.

Yeah, when the front end slid right and I was looking down the side of the Mountain my blood presure did rise a bit.. But after that we were good to go.. OH, if anyone needs a Yoohoo shook up while on the trail, give it to us for a few minutes. We were shaking, bouncing, like crazy trying to keep up with all the Modded guys out there.. LOL It was a lot of fun.

We did get a fair amount of pics. We may have to have someone post them for us.

URE pics

Here are a few shots from 30 July when Jason and I went out. We had a blast. That 80 is one nice ride. The 40 did well as we hit Dutch John, Slab pile and a few others. Did not have time for Daniel so we called it a day. The girls had a blast as it was their first time out with us.

more URE pics

And here are a few shots from 5 July. We did not get as many pics this time as Stacy was feeling better as my copilot. I really wish we would have gotten some pics from the entry to Daniel. I thought we were going to need a pull up the hill but hit the entry just right and was able to climb up. That's when Stacy got a bit nervous. But she did great. Daniel really makes me want to get my front end locked. We also spent some time on Kodiak rock...

nice view

Could not resist this pic. We had a good view from the top of Kodiak rock. 3 40's and several Sammie's had a nice view from the top. :flipoff2: There was one real nice J**P there. had a coil over and 4 wheel steering. Still did not compare to the beast that RK rolled in or purred like Tym's 400 SBC. Tym did loose a passenger on the way down as well as one on Kodiak. We were trailing him on the ride down and saw a field mouse peek his head out from behind his right front. When it did the wind caught him and slung him out in the road. I can only imagine what went through his mind as he skidded to a stop. Poor thing.....talk about a change in scenery. All in all though it was a good day. No one rolled or broke anything major. alternator issues and a torsion bar.....I learned something valuable though. Manual steering is a PITA on the rocks. Might as well cancel my gym membership with the workout I get.....:D

Our Cruiser (white) looks like a baby next to RK's (green)... I was proud that ours was able to keep up, may not have gone over the same rocks as some of the others, but we made it to the end. :)

I just love that J**P pic. *SIGH* What a sight.

Cool pics and stories! Sounds like a fun time was had. Wish I could have made it.

Since you had Kodak Rock pics and stories, here's a good Kodak Rock video taken by Trollhole at a dual club function at Uwharrie last winter.

JP (in the blue 62 at the end) gets an A for effort!! :D
