I posted recently looking at 01, largely avoiding Nav. I will be relocating to Madrid in August and want to take a LC with me. (government takes care of shipping). with an 03 seems like I would pay for warantee I would never use.

I was thinking Nav would be useless there, however, do you know if DVDs are available for other countries, ie Europe. ( I guess I could call Madrid Toyo dealer, but wanted to see if anyone here has considered this.

Also, don't care about a warrantee as it wont apply there.

I know i can get a 100 seires diesel 5 spd. there but thay are outragioius, 70K EURO or 80-90K USD.

if you can bring a diesel back easily because of special regs, get a used one over there and make a killing selling it here or just keep it.

Portable Nav Syses are just so cheap and nice these days, that would not be a factor for me.

Keep also parts and repairs in mind (see Mike in Poland saga).

and talk to Dandon of course....

Yes, a used diesel without a NAV would be a hot item if you could get it back to the USA without much trouble. There are a number of discussions about the options available overseas - a LC 105 with SFA would be popular among many.

Hi!
Nav DVDs are available here with spanish/european maps, of course. I'm going to the dealer tomorrow to get my 100 back (I hope), I can ask about prices. Anyway, I agree with e9999 about independent nav systems. A Tomtom One with maps included is around 300 euro.
LC 100 are expensive indeed, and our standard Land Cruiser is the Prado (120 /125). Anyway, price includes AHC and most electric gadgetry that is standard in the european market versions. Regarding diesels, I see about 20 HDJ100 for every gas UZJ100. But parts and repairs shouldn't be an issue, though.
105's are not available here (some emissions related issue, IIRC).
Of course I would be glad to meet you and /or recommend you a toyota dealer, for example. Just ask.

Oh, yes, I forgot about Gibraltar. and they do sell 105's too.

Thanks that is helpful.

I think a diesel w/o airbags would not do so well on us roads.

Good to know a US nave system will work w/ Spain DVD. Will keep you posted, move is some itme off now.

Hi, like Dandon Said, NAV is no problem over here, neither is spares or support from dealers. also, there are far more Diesels over here than anything else. Parts are reasonable, if you know where to get them, but I would recommend buying a used vehicle over here (diesel), rather than importing, as used vehicles in spain seriously hold value!

Look here for used prices http://coches.segundamano.es/result...o_max=&provincia=0&combustible=0&orden=precio

Thanks.... are those Turbo Diesels in those trucks?

Also, do you know the tax structure in Spain, do those prices include taxes. It is a lot of coin, an additional USD 10K+ for similar year mileage. I would never burn through that much gas.

It would be a novelty to have a Diesel, not to mention a bonus, any idea if one could be registered in the US?..........anyone?
