took a really 'spur of the moment' trip to URE Sunday. Two 80's, a 40 and a 4-runner. Had a great time. I didn't try to many hard lines, mostly took it easy. Steve's 40 kept popping out of gear, so he was having to hold the t-case shifter and try to drive up obstacles all at the same time. Didn't work so well after he punched a hole in his t-case. poor fella. I felt so bad for him, but the whole time he was apologizing to everyone else for taking up their time!

Steve, we are a cruiser community. We help each other and that's just what happened. we all had a great time regardless of your misfortune. We felt for you, buddy. So get a good skid plate and get he patched up.

didn't take hardly any pics. :frown:

Yeah guys I really appreciate all the help yesterday, I hate to think what I would have done had you guys not been there. The good news is I scored a T-case the same afternoon from a good friend of mine that lives in my neighborhood, man what a blessing. Thanks for letting me ride shotgun with you the rest of the day Alex, and thanks to Jason for towing me every bit of 2-3 miles. I hated paying the tow bill back to G-boro, but it wasnt as bad as I thought it would be and it was well worth it to get everything back home with only one more hole than in the 40 than I started out with:hillbilly:

Thanks again to everyone:cheers:

hey i think there is a small crack in the housing...... oh right next to the gaping hole.

as they say, it happens. we wouldn't have done it any other way and were all glad you and the cruiser got home safe. thats awesome you already got the replacement so let us know a date and you got a couple extra hands waiting here. and if you hurry i bet next months oldnorthestate HAMOM slot is open:) see joes post on the new website.

it was hot and dusty as usual and will probably only get worse for the next 4 months but it was good to hit the trails and it was a first trip w/ my niece who now wants to lift mommys cruzer (yes!) so the battle has begun, keep your eyes out for some 2.5'' springs for an 80. sorry no pics though.

oh and steve , congrats on gettin her up daniel w/out trhee legs and four arms for all that you had goin on in that cockpit!!!!
now that is some good drivin'

I second that congrats on bringing the cruiser to the top, a lesser driver would have been calling for the strap a ways back.Glad to see everyone made it home sefely. I sure wish we had more pics, at least one of my IFS wheel stand but Kayla is just learning this off road camera woman job. I meant to call and check how things went, but once I got home I passed out still in my filthy trail gear, i'm just now getting around to cleaning the 4Runner. Thanks for the great trip, sorry about your rig Steve, but next time I'll sure you'll be back better than before. Keep me in the loop when you guys head down there again.

i wish i would have gotten more pics also, but bringing up the rear, you guys were allready through the obstacles before i could get there to take pics.

I still think i have dust coming out of my ears.

Yeah I was hoping that the 70 mph ride on the back of that roll back would blow all the dust out of it, but no luck:doh: .

By the way if anyone has an extra skid plate they would like to sell please let me know, probably the most ridiculous thing I've ever done was going down there with out a skid plate, I know better than to do something like that and It serves me right for thinking I could get by without one. I may just buy one from IPOR but I thought I would see if anybody has a extra one.

hey steve lets hit fabristeel on market and 68 and look for some good scraps!

i need some plating for the steering box still and some other odds and ends, those guys are pretty cool.
