on my 2006 DC leaking grease, Toyota said normal wear item not covered under warranty, both uppers started leaking after Lower BJ Recall that was at 19K miles, said they could do nothing under warranty, truck only had 31K on it when i asked them and explained they started leaking shortly after Recall. They said ya want it fixed I must pay, nothing worn only leaking but from what i have read they should not leak or be bad till around 60K Minimum. I guess i get to replace lube and boots just to satisfy my standards! The District Rep obviously has different standards for MY Tundra, kinda lame problem but i got a lame answer also. :bang:

I thought normal wear items were wiper blades, v belts, tires and stuff like that? District Rep seems to make a bunch of bad calls on my 06, steering growling noise was a steering rack change and 3 days after he shot me down it was replaced. BUTT get this the new one they replaced only lasted 12 hours? now it needs another new one?:mad: This would be the norm for a chevy but this BS needs to stop ASAP, i need a truck NOW!!:steer::steer:

"normal wear" per Toyota is most (99%) rubber components. Vac lines, hoses, CV boots, grease boots, etc. The sad part is the ball joints (upper and lower) are the weak link in the front suspensions on ALL 1st gen Tundras, and Toyota knows it. Because there havent been enough failures to cause a public outcry they will not worry about it nor take steps to correct it.

So much for sealed for life i guess, everything i read life for a seald BJ is 60 to 80K miles and the boots are not torn they have lost their seal where they mate to shaft of BJ so a new set 2 days after installed could be MY fault and not Toyoats that installed them 2 days ago? Would not the new pair have a 1 year warranty? or ya just out another set of BJ's? Something just is not clicking with me on this one?:bang::bang::clap:

I filed a NHTSA complaint on my uppers recently and Toyota finally said the would warranty them cause i told them that it was unacceptable for a sealed BJ to leak at 25K miles and they are taking care of me! Finally:) I will do my part in keeping complaints headed in proper direction and the next issue is 02 Sensors starting to go bad on the 04's from what i see and you guys need to file complaints also!!
