After breaking down things on the '68 i have discovered the dash pad was covered in a brown vinyl and the lower pads were painted/dyed brown as well. After removing the material I have a black dash cover which I think is factory correct?

Now on to the seats. The vehicle was built Sep '67 as a model '68. Were there options of colors for the interior or, was it one color fits all 40's. Can someone please advise as the current color/s are a brownish non color wheel specific bland weather beaten mess.

I will be sending the dash cover and bottom pads to Just Dashes in L.A to be refurbished. Unless I can find perfect replacements. Or.....maybe Toyota still makes em'? And they will be very expensive.

Thanks all.

Thank you. Oh' (where is my mind?). The first picture shows windshield frame to cowl. The rubber strip that sits in that place was rotted from age and quite useless. Sooo, I shopped online and was dumbfounded to read the ask for these was $300.00 for a 54" strip of rubber with some oblong holes. Ahhh no....that ain't going to happen.

Anyone here used an other type of rubber strip. Since this vehicle will never see rain I reckon just gauge the thickness, width and head off to a supply store. That is unless you have a better idea.

Coming from old Broncos where their windshild/cowl rubber is $30.00 you imagine my surprise.

Roger (@Racer65 ) makes one for the 69 and later trucks. I hear it works for the earlier trucks ok but isn’t the same exact fit.

You’d also be amazed at how resilient the rubber strip is. Mine looked past death but some time in the blast cabinet with glass beads cleaned it up great. Dressed it with some black plastic trim restorer and it is 100% better...but still not new.
