My father in-law recently purchased a 2010 and just told me that everything that he is looking in to upgrading says that it's not compatible with the 2010... he is looking in to a cold air intake, front receiver hitch and more than likely a set of sliders to start... I find this hard to believe! anyone have some info to help me help him?

THANKS in advance!!!

I looked at a 2010 last weekend at the TAC fall crawl. They have changed some things. The washer fluid bottle is hidden under the frame because of the new intake air system. They also went to a cartridge oil filter system. I could easily see why some products are not able to be used on a new truck.

I think all the major changes took place in the engine compartment. Aftermarket bumpers must be designed specifically for 2010+ models. Sliders shouldn't be an issue. But skids for the front half of the truck may not be the same either. Best to call the aftermarket manufacturers and see if they have anything model-year specific.

With the future FJC's being made for RHD markets, as Rick said, most of the changes have to do with being able to accommodate that.

Yet, I'm sure those who make aftermarket parts will be quick to make the necessary changes to get it mod'ed to your Father-in-law's liking...

I sold my 07 fj last fall and purchased a new 2010. I swithched over with out and hassle , my ARB front bumper, roof rack , and arb rock rails with skid plates. Also put in the same heavy front and rear OME suspension lift. The only thing i could not use so far was the Cold air intake as it is intirely a diff intake. Oh and i had to get a set or TPS for the aftermarket rims and the 07 never needed them.
