A few of us were talking about parked and unused 80s that live here in the valley. Would anyone be willing to share some leads? I may be in the market to upgrade my 89 pickup. I heard there is one at a pentiction orchard. Also one under a lot of dust up at big white.

Having johns awesome truck at my house doesn't help at all.

In 20yrs or so I should be done with mine. Or about 10 minutes after I buy Johns. Which ever comes first.

I will keep my eyes peeled in the meantime. I will try and track down the name of the complex that is hiding the dusty one up at big white.

You know, the same thing happened to me after I spent a day following Geordie, and then trying his truck.

I realized that it was capable right out of the gate and a major increase in power and handling over the leaf sprung cruisers I had owned.

You know I get my truck back right?

What truck? My thought is that I can bolt on 4" of lift without cutting or welding. I figure I can build an 80 in less time and money than my pickup and still hit any of the trails I want.

My advice would be to go to Slee's site, order the 6" DIY kit, ask him for the 4"inch springs instead of the 6". A case of beer and a weekend and you will have essentially what John has done. If you want to wheel it on 37s keep the 6" springs and by a little fold out stool so the wife and kids can get in the truck, if you want to drive it (better road maners) run 35s and go with the 4" springs.

With our current exchange rate this kit (excellent components and a one stop shop with weekend install) is the way to go IMHO.

My intensions after my 2.5 inch lift were to save some coin and execute the plan above.......my problem now is that I have not found a trail that requires the extra lift. Albeit the cool factor has been tempting me. My truck just drives so nice at the moment it is really hard to pull the trigger.

When you finish adding that weight to it Geordie, you'll want the lift
