I was thinking about this thread last night. How great of a company is it that Toyota still makes parts for these old rigs. Some of these rigs are close to 50 years old. The parts are still very reasonably priced.

In 1998 I could not get a special 24" fuel hose for a 1982 CJ-8.

1971-1983 is still available per CDan.

:doh:with every post my 40 loses it's value :crybaby:I work for toyota and have been slowly buying everything that is still available for mine over the last 3 years the credit cards are maxed and with every rare puchase I tell myself "they could discontinue this tomarrow" "better buy two!" everyone im sure will be doing the same thing now... so Im sure things will go even faster after this thread hits the web:bang: :eek: somethings they sell off what they have left and thats it!!!! others are maintinence items so the must reproduce them.

Just wondering. I get 25% off at the local dealer via TLCA and I need to get window channel felt pretty soon anyway. It has been recommended, even by Dan to get that locally because it doesn't always survive shipping.

$450 - 25% = 337.50 + 8.25% tax = 365.34 shipping included

Hmm. Maybe it's only 20% off...

My dash pad is nearly perfect. It has two hairline cracks. It'll probably sell for $200 on ebay. :flipoff2:

I went to the local dealership yesterday to try to source a few parts for my 81 FJ40. The parts guy did a nationwide computer search. Or at least he said he did. Here are the results:

Body Bushings; not available
Shocks; same
Windshield washer jar and motor; same
Spring bump stops; same
Seat belts; same
Rear window rubber for amb doors; Got it! $72 apiece.

I would have thought they had to have safety stuff like the belts. I don't want the black ones from CCOT with my gray interior.
