Southeast Overland
Get lost! Go explore!
UC has a few policies that I thought would be good to post up for everyone to read. I'll also add a few things that could keep you out of trouble in various areas we might visit or stray into.
- Legal disclaimer - this is not legal advice and you should clarify any laws and local regulations on your own -
ALCOHOL AND DRUGS - UC policy
You may not consume alcohol or be under the influence while on the trail or during a UC road ride such as as Cruisin' the Parkway. If you are caught you will immediately be out of the club. This is to protect UC members. Responsible drinking is fine in camp once you are done driving or at events such as monthly meetings, HAMOMs, etc where wheelin' is not included.
ALCOHOL AND TELLICO - Forest Sevice policy
No alcohol is allowed on the trails at Tellico. Rangers have the right to search your vehicle and coolers. If they find alcohol, even unopened, you will be cited. I'm not positive but I have been told your vehicle could be impounded or confiscated.
FIREARMS - Common sense
Stay within the law.
FIREARMS AND THE BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY - National Park Service policy
National Park regulations state that all firearms must be unloaded.
LITTER - UC Policy
Don't do it - period. If you see litter on the trail be a nice guy (or girl) and pick it up. We have to set a good example of how to wheel responsible if we want to keep trails open.
