MAYDAY

I need a drag link for a '94 80 series.

I leave for Moab Thursday, and currently have a bent drag link with a broken joint.

This is what I get for trying to do preventative maintenance lol.

I'll buy an aftermarket drag link, a stock drag link, don't care. I'll even pull one. Just need one so I can get this thing together.

I'm in Mauldin, SC

Finally had the chance to go camping. Had this RTT for close to 5 yrs and just now had the opportunity to use it.

Aaron picked up a 2000 4runner a couple weeks ago as his 1st ride. In pretty good shape. Some rust in the rear but not too bad. Health wise he is going well. Still some small issues here and there to figure out but his transplanted heart is doing well. He's almost as tall as me! Hoping to get him involved with the club in 26. I had found a 80 series in alabama in his price range but it was just too far to travel to come back empty handed if the pics of the rig weren't as advertised.

That's awesome Gabe

Man I miss that place so much! Last camped there in March ‘09 in a blizzard right before they shut it down.

@jfz80 did you hike in from the parkway?

My last trip up there was Nov 2008. It was the big North meets South trip. Probably 20 rigs.

Those stand alone spruce trees have not faired well but are still standing. Rick, That was one of the pics I had in mind showing them when I snapped that pic to compare. Then there’s the blizzard shot, and the bunny pic. So many good times.

Came up Moses from the bottom to where it’s gated just below the lower bald. I don’t recall that gravel road being nearly that long! Also don’t recall the upper bald being that far from the lower but 20yrs and 20 pound will do that. Plus I probably never walked it lol

Had a good long chat with a local and all the familiar names and stories were a blast to recall. He was hesitant to discuss with a non local but got to talking and was impressed with all that we’ve managed to cover there.

Brasstown, rough butt, mull ck, sugar creek, chastine ck, wet camp etc. I pried for any tips to access but he said it was locked up tight and the overgrown roadbeds proved it. Some just completely consumed by the forest.

We tried about 8 years ago or so to get the Nantahala district ranger to work with us to open the trail back up to the top and we would volunteer to maintain it. Unfortunately they had no interest in allowing this to happen. When Marshall and I went back then the bottom was gated and tank trapped with the road already having trees growing up in it.
