Well unfortunately didn't get as much snow as we hoped for, but rode up to horsepasture in the 80 loaded 5 deep, and met a couple buddies in a 4th gen 4Runner. Had a good time cruising around. Until at the very end at shooting tree rd, my buddy locked his keys in the 4Runner with it running. Ended up calling a friend in Clemson who grabbed his spare key from his apartment and ran it up to us in his 80. At that point it was late and it was a little sketchy headed back out of the mountains. The small roads to hwy11 were real iffy. And then even 11 was super slick. By the time we got into pickens there was almost nothing on the road. And by the time we got back to Mauldin it was clear.View attachment 3812968View attachment 3812970View attachment 3812971View attachment 3812972View attachment 3812973

Brave soul driving on that ice.

Put the chains on the 80 yesterday as a precaution for today and icy secondary roads and working with county EMA. Figured it was easier to take them off if not needed than put on in bad conditions. Turns out my 35s are too tight on the rear axle and I can barely fit a finger between the chain and frame. Anyone need a set of 4 chains? 😁

Could always add wheel spacers

Do you think they will work on 33s? I've been meaning to get a set since the ones for my truck are too small for the LC.

Yeah Hwy 11 was straight ice, it was a very slow drive back. Horsepasture was powdery enough it was a lot of fun. You'd still slide around though.

Thought about going up to Musterground today, getting there would be the hard part though

Hey all. It’s been a minute. Thought about selling my 40, but after Marshall serviced it I’ve been enjoying driving it and working on it. Just put on new OEM shocks this morning, and while it’s still not a Cadillac Ride, it was a whole lot smoother at 60mph.

I won't be able to make it this Saturday. Basketball season has started up for the boy. Hopefully the rain holds off!
Thanks again for doing this!

I had a last minute trip to Gulches on Saturday, met up with a bunch of buddies still in school. The Clemson Offroad club took a day trip there.

I had a good time, didn't tear up anything besides an air line for my rear locker. Got rowdy doing it on shipwreck. I let the LS sing

Full disclosure I ended up pulling cable to get up it, it was slick and once I popped that air line it wasn't gonna happen in 3WD. But I bout had it once those tires heated up
