I have a forward turn signal housing and lens from my '97 third gen 4Runner, and I'm looking to post it for sale, but don't want to list it as the wrong thing. My 4Runner now lives in Mexico and the old bumper is long gone, so I have no reference to look at. The housing and lens are both marked with an R, but I'm 99% certain that it came from the drivers side of the bumper...which should make it the L signal. My corner light lenses from my '80 pickup are marked R and L in the casting from the orientation of sitting in the vehicle, but the orientation for the 4Runner parts would be the opposite, if that is what the R indicates.

Am I having a bizarre brain melt here, or am I interpretting the marking wrong? What am I missing here?

R is barely visible in the lower right corner. I am certain that I noted the rock chip on the bottom of the lens when I pulled it off.

Cheers,

The giant R in the 3rd pic tells you what side of the vehicle it came from. In some cases, you can flip them upside down and it will work on the opposite side. R=passenger.
