Here's your chance to have dinner with the president! ;)

My wife and kids are staying in for the holidays. We (and when I say we, I generally mean ME) generally cook way too much food for T-day. If anyone is family-less for the holiday and wants a bit of chaos injected into their lives, they are welcome to join!

I'm going to try to smoke a turkey for the first time ever... I've smoked a bunch of chickens over the summer, but never done a turkey before. Should be fun.

Mmmm smoked Turkey, sounds delicious. How do you do it? Makes me want to ditch dinner with the :princess:'s friends that already invited us.

That is generous of you to offer dinner to those away from family/friends.

Well, you need a smoker.

Mine is a chimney style jobby I picked up at Wally World for a bit under a hundy. It works really well. Low and slow for..... ever. Chickens take about 4 hours. I'm guessing the Turkey will take 6-8 depending on the size.

Might throw my last rack of ribs in there just for kicks.

I like to use a blend of mesquite and Hickory wood soaked in apple juice.
