Well ordered a lot of things and put most to use this morning....

Mystique was running a little rough so did a full tune up with new wires for plugs and coil.....new distributor cap...new rotor...new plugs....new fuel filter....new air filter...and new carb diaphragm.

replaced plugs and wires...put on new dizzie cap and rotor...and reconnected everything...thanks Toyota for numbering wires, dizzie, etc to make it easy. I still crossed a wire and had 1 and 4 crosses...easy to notice as soon as I tried to drive her. Stopped...checked my work and noticed they were crossed so did it again and purred like a kitten.

Only thing I did not do is the new internals for the carb diaphragm...I want Glenn or Dbenke looking over my shoulder before I take that apart and put the new part in. Sure it is simple but just want to be sure I dont dick it up.

I also bought two FJ62 mirrors in satin black and replaced the small mirrors on the 60...man what a difference. :grinpimp:

She is definitely running better just from these changes and no wonder. One plug was loose and some seepage from top cover was getting in there...plus quite a few of the plugs were burnt looking and with rust or something building up on back side of the tips. One screw on the dizze cap was rusted in place so not sure the last time this was done. Guessing they changed plugs and wires a few years ago but not sure about anything else....so it is done now. ;)

I also have the knuckle rebuild kit with the Aussie felt covers of solid metal rather than the flimsy Toyota versions....so next Hamom I need to learn how to do a knuckle rebuild. Does someone have the hub socket but thinking I need to buy one for my own kit anyhow? So next Hamom knuckle rebuild and carb diaphragm for my 60...

I also need to trouble shoot that after I got her back from Glens last week the fan was not working any more....then it worked last week and stopped again today. Hoping it is just a loose wire or bad ground....and not a fan motor or fan switch going bad.

She is getting there...

Oh.....I had some changes due to misunderstanding when buying my parts.....CCOT sent me a full set of replacement lug nuts at no charge. They may not be cheapest but their customer service is second to none. Between CCOT and Cruiser Outfitters .......I have been taken care of pretty good.
:wrench:
