Tube Supplier in South Alabama

I have been reading and calling all over this state with not one solid lead on DOM tube. The closest hit I've had was Sabel Steel in Dothan. They have multiple locations throughout the state but they weren't too sure they could get it. WTF? They act like I'm speaking another language. I know there are plenty of race cars in this state so how is it that no one knows what the fxxx I'm talking about. Maybe I should contact them...

I'm willing to drive a reasonable distance to pick up a load if anyone knows where to get it. Probably limited to Montgomery, Tallahassee, and Mobile at the farthest reach. Otherwise I guess it'll be onlinemetals.com. $$

Cool, I'm looking for 1.75", and 1.5" .120 wall DOM. The typical roll cage and slider stuff. Also check on 2x4" and 2x5" rectangular tube with either a 1/4" or 3/16" wall. And lastly, 2x2" 3/16" wall square tube, HREW will be fine for the last two.

They usually come in 20' or 24' lengths. I'd like to know if they'll need to sell each stick complete or if they can cut to order.

You might try O'Neal steel in Mobile, I used them for some HREW a couple of years ago. They had a giant warehouse of metal - they are more wholesale style but they will sell to individuals. I'm not sure if they have DOM or not but it is worth a try.

edit:It looks like they do from their stock book. They call it E.W.D.O.M. which I assume is electronically welded drawn over mandrel tubing.

Thanks, I'll give em a try. It's a damn shame that it's about a 4 hour trip for me one way to Mobile. I'll surely need to pick up a big quantity to make the trek worth it :sigh:... so you guys need to start thinking about your future orders .

Great news!

Sam at Emfinger in Dothan is now stocking tube! Pretty fair prices as well. I have a couple slider projects under way (my 100 and a buddy's GMC PU) as well as some tube fenders for my 40 in the works.

Their yard also has a ton of flat bar and plate steel. They have quite the selection.

The tubing has arrived! Just this morning, a truck brought in some DOM tubing to go with the HREW tubing that arrived yesterday. In particular, we now have:

* 7 pcs of 1.5" x .120" x 20' round HREW ($2.31/ft)
* 4 pcs of 1.5" x .120" x 24' R/L round DOM ($4.14/ft)
* 4 pcs of 1.75" x .120" x 24' R/L round DOM ($4.66/ft)
* 18 pcs of 2" x 2" x .188" x 20' square ($3.67/ft) and
* 32 pcs of 3" x 2" x .188" x 20' square ($4.68/ft).

As 1.75" x .120" ERW becomes available, we will also stock this, but that is the only size I'm having trouble reeling in.
