TTORA - Jason at Demello off-road expects 50+ toyotas that weekend. Hope I can clear the calander, I would love to go. May have to borrow Brent's dutch oven.

No can do - taking Katherine off to college that weekend. Mark from LA Trailcrews was considering a working trip for our trail that weekend. He may want to postpone.

You took the words right out of my mouth.

wonder if we could combine the two in some way..
say trash bags for all participants... and some tread lightly info???

we could also use one of the areas on the trail to camp and clean afterward???

Just by letting them know that it was adopted and what is happening we may get some more help?? for a future weekend...

comments or ideas???? or am I dreaming..

Law school starts that MOnday the 21st....if I can get away for a full day I'll come up for just Saturday.....BUT looking at my reading list, and the water is murky if you know what I mean and it's not b/c I've been playing in the mud w/ the 80.

Law School????, Been there done that!, Good luck with all the reading/case outlines. Don't expect to see you much for the next three years.

We've never met, but my hats off to anyone trying to break into the profession.

Your heart is in the right place Ray but I wonder if we might be crashing someone else's parade. We could certainly mention it to anyone we chat with on the trail to spread the word. Maybe you could get in touch with who ever is running the event and mention our trail/cause at the drivers meeting? Hand out bags? Good idea!

Oh, don't tell lawyer joke, don't tell lawyer joke. :flipoff2: Only kidding, kudos to anyone willing to take on that much extra schooling. Not me. :D

Good point..

I will make some contacts and be PC to avoid stepping on toes... and see what can be done....

anyone know where we could get trash bags with a logo.????

That might give the wrong impression that we are trash. I can only imagine the jokes that would come flying our way. Maybe one of Brents cool stickers when they get done and plain trash bags. :D

Better idea.... wouldn't want the club to be trashed...

I will even make a donation to cover some of the cost of the stickers... and swing by sams for the bags....

Ray, Great ideas and it is possible! Eitherway, there's a group of adopt-a-trail gyru's meeting up at Hanna Flats camp that same weekend. The majority (90%) of these dudes are stock to lightly modified heeps The plan is a meet-n-greet and then do some maintenance on 2N84 and then our 3N08. Super light and easy trails.

I checked on large columbian burlap bags from a source I have and we can get them for .50 a piece without any artwork. $200.00 for 100 large reusable bags? Any interest? I'm checking with the USFS to see if they can atleast fund the art...

If you or anyone else is up there, stop by and say, "Hey." Otherwise, I'm sure we can coordinate an organized clean up in the coming months of September or October. Everyone familiar with 3N08 agrees that it would be a perfect trail with about 2' of snow. Come on winter!!!

If we can get something we can hang off the tire carriers or that is reusable that might work well for for all of us..

As a side note it appears that hwy 330 is closed according to the state web site..

SR 330
[SAN BERNARDINO & RIVERSIDE CO.'S]
IS CLOSED FROM HIGHLAND AVE TO LIVE OAK DR /IN SAN BERNARDINO/ (SAN BERNARDINO CO) 24 HRS A DAY 7 DAYS A WEEK THRU 9/1/06 - DUE TO CONSTRUCTION - A DETOUR IS AVAILABLE

So if you plan on going that way you may want to take a different route...

Anyone planning on going up and camping for the weekend ????

There are about 20-25 rigs still planning on meeting at Hanna Flats from 8/18-8/20 for our adopt-a-trail maintenance and overnight meet-n-greet. I'm planning on using Hwy 18 and cuttin' across either late Friday night or early Saturday morning. :D

I am off work later in the week this week and planned on making an effort to contact the guys running the event and see what they think.

Wish I could come Mark, but will be in Norcal that weekend. You can go up 38 also. Mo and I came home that way Sunday. Signs were up Sunday warning of the closure effective 8/7 on 330.

10-4 Brent!

Hey by the way, you know that by trailing, even trails that are not ours ie. 3N08, we can still count those hours, right? They consider it volunteer patrolling. Just a thought...

Have a great trip and we will see you on the next get together!

Who and how do we report this? To Greg Hoffman directly? We had 5 cruisers and two 'other' trucks. We ran our trail, part of John Bull and Jacob Canyon. Probably a total of 5 hours for all 7 trucks and another hour or so for 5 trucks.
