Hey, ok I know I am always posting a thread asking what shops everyone suggest. So with that being said I am looking at compiling a list of local shops, vendors, etc here in the San Antonio area that people could use as a guide to services here. Please if you have any suggestions, or know where we might get a discount, etc please post it. If you have a place for tires, wires, gears, lifts, paint, or whatever it may be please post it here and I will make a better list once people have made suggestions and with the list I will provide links to websites to those who might have websites. Thanks guys and gals!

i think that's a good idea....
I'll start the contribution to this thread with.....

1) auto upholstery ......... "Tony" 210-932-8551
he works out of his home on the NW side of San Antonio. you buy the material from SA foam and he installs. He is fast, honest and very detailed. You do have to communicate exactly what you want,,, otherwise the finished seats are too nice (long story). He also does motorcycle seats.

2) exhaust, valve and carb work .... "Roy" @ Alamo Speed Shop 210-967-8900
Roy is located on the northside of San Antonio behind Chacho's on Perrin-Beitel.
he is inexpensive and honest,,however, he is always busy(always a few seventies muscle cars around), sooo call ahead.

I think Alamo Toyota offers 10% as well as Universal.

Texas Alternator Starter Service in Austin (512.836.6601) and San Antonio (210.310.7821).

.....

Universal Toyota does better than 10% if you order under Alamo City Land Cruisers. Most of the time the price is pretty close to what going thru CDan is and adding shipping.

Be warned the 2 parts guys are kinda dry to deal with. Or maybe they got tired of my 2 or 3 obscure parts at a time orders.;)

Thanks for posting so far, once there is more input I'll make a better list... So please everyone continue to add more shops. If you've used them or use them because they provide quality service please share...

I would recommend dealing with Cesar or Joey at Universal Toyota. They will take very good care of you and if not tell them the McDaniel family will hear of it. :D

Red McCombs and Cavender both will give the shop rate which should be about 20%.

CDAN on the forum is a great resource that will be able to help find that obscure part and remember there is no sales tax on high dollar items.

I will add that even though this type of tread is useful and could become a FAQ, I also see individuals who care nothing for the comradery of the club to take advantage of it. Maybe we should do like Nathan suggest and make cards just for members to use at the dealerships and retailers.
