About two years ago I got an electric deep fryer, so I have done the usual turkey and such. I had heard the Rumor about deep frying a Prime Rib. I know I'm a redneck. So anyways while at the local store the
picks up a prime for and says lets try it. So this what I did. First thing I did was made sure that I had a back up plan for dinner(Frozen Papa Murphys Pizza to the Rescue, just in case) Next I injected the Prime Rib with Garlic infused Olive oil. Then took fresh Rosemary, Sea Salt, Kosher Salt, Fresh Pepper, and minced garlic and Rubed it all over. I let that set for two days in the Fridge. Pulled it two hours before cooking time and let it cool to room temp. Got my fryer heated up to 400 degrees. When I placed the Prime Rib in the Fryer I turned it down to 350.
Ok now as far as time goes I started out with 4 minutes a pound. This was not long enough. I think by the time I pulled it, it was probally 6 to 7 minutes a pound.
Well, You would'nt be reading about this had it not turned out freaking awesome, (Do you think I would let you know about screwing about the good meat) It was so tender and juicy, I believe it was one of the best Prime RIb that I have ever had.
Anyways it a unconventionally way of cooking Prime rib but worth a try.
My Daughter loves the jumping guys.
