Hi all, My name is Tyler and I am travelling to the Okanogan of a couple weeks in April I'll be trailering my ATV down with me and stayign with some friends on their ranch outside of Penticton. I'd like to get some wheeling with my cruis in while I'm down and was hoping some of you might be able to point me to some decent trails. I have a Silver 87 HJ 60 with home built turb set up. I'm running 33x9.5 BFG At's with a rear aussie locker. The front is open. I also have on board air and wheel at around 14psi for extra grip. I'd love to do some back woods travel with maybe even a camp night while out. Some trails that had options in term of difficulty would be great. I have read a little about the KVR but not much else. If nothing else where would some good ATV trails be. I'd also love to meet some fellow cruiser heads while I'm down and would Jump at teh chance to wheel with you. I'll be leaving fort Mac on Monday night and hope to be there by Tuesday night.

Thanks,
Tyler

unfortunately you will be hitting us at break up. most trails here are up in the hills on either side of the valley. it will be a little cold to camp and there will still be snow on the ground and where there is no snow there will be mud. i don't think there will be much clear on the west side of the valley but the east will be starting to clear.

if you want to look for trails from penticton just head east up carmi road and follow the signs to the lost moose lodge then keep going on the logging road when you get to it. another 5km and you will meet what we call the 201 which is a mainline logging road running north south for miles with many side trails. head south for ok falls, or north to go to highway 33 north of beaverdell. i would be very careful on the side trails this time of year. lots of places to get stuck in mud or snow.

What Semlin said.

Even with your quad it is alot of work (winching) to get around above 1000m at the moment, lots of deep corn snow patches in the shady spots. There is a gas line between Peachland and Summerland along the ridge west of OK lake that might be clear enough for passage. (from the trailer park at Antler beach to Garnet valley)
