The plan is to install Scout ps with a 4" s/r lift and keep it SUA. during the ps conversion and lift i would like to up grade the steering linkage. these are the arms i have on there. they are small pattern.
QUESTION:
Are there any arms out there that are bolt on that have enough meat to ream out for GM TRE's?

You might get Luke at 4x4 labs to do reverse bend on his arms. Other than that, nope..

You could upgrade to 60 ends for a bit extra strength.

Brake hoses look like they need to be replaced. A lot of cracking going on there.

I used 60 TRE's and also stepped up to the Hysteer linkages. More beefy than stock 40 TRE's and linkage.

Whats wrong with the earlier FJ40 TRE's? I've never seen them break.
I've been running the FJ40 smaller TRE on my FJ40 for years and haven't broken one. I've worn them out, but never broken one. FWIW I've got Saginaw Power Steering, and my tie rod is a 1.5" diameter tie rod. The Drag link is 1 -3/8" diameter with a GM TRE on the saginaw box side. The truck has been that way for ~ 6 years now.

If you want larger TREs you will need to get a set of wide pattern knuckles and the appropriate steering arms from either a minitruck or an FJ60.

I've had a couple of the standard 40 series TRE's break as well as bent steering arms and bent tierod and relay rods

I ended up putting stronger 60 series steering arms on and stronger FJ70 tierods and relay rod with the larger TRE's and havent broken or bent anything since, its RHD with a FJ70 steering box and pitman arm

I've got the small pattern Luke arms he tried to talk me into up grading knuckles but I won't. Now I want hydro asst but doubt they will hold up to that. I've always check the torque and have never broke a stud but can't up grade now with out buying new arms. Safe yourself some money in the long run and get the large pattern knuckles if your buying arms
