Does TRD have plans for a lift kit?
How do aftermarket lift kits translate to manufacturers warranty?

Aftermarket lift kits can cause Toyota to void part of your warranty - the part(s) that can be affected by the lift (Drivetrain).

There is, however, a loophole. If the dealer installs the lift, then it should be covered as part of the original factory warranty. Dealers can't install something that will void your warranty. The downside is that it's generally more expensive and sometimes leads to more problems down the line (not all Toyota certified mechanics should be installing lifts), and may cause you to have warranty repair problems...go figure.

Revtek, has its own lift kit coming out.

Which Dealer ship did you purchase the fj from. I know people at Mechanicsville and McGeorge and can ususally get things covered. Let me know I have lifted many toyotas and trucks I might be able to help you out.

I actually purchased the FJ in Kentucky where my father manages the third largest toyota dealership in the US.

I just got off the phone with Todd, the service manager at Mechanicsville, and as long as it does not "negativly" effect the drive train and put "undo" stress on the drive shafts it will still be covered under warranty. I have installed a couple of lifts on Tundras that there customers own and have not had a problem yet. Let me know if you need someone to install the lift kit.

Interesting, which dealership is that?

It's Called Fannin Motors. It is in Boyd County Kentucky, near downtown Ashland. Brand new dealership. Several "big-wigs" from Toyota Japan came over for the grand opening. They have an unbelievable showroom, motorcycle museum, classic car museum, restaraunt styled after a 50's diner, 10,000 gallon shark tank, game room, Lincoln museum. The classic car museum is in a model "city" within the showroom with an authetic gas station/barber shop/pharmacy/ect. It's overkill to the extreme but something to behold. They still don't have their inventory up to par yet but I do know they have at least one FJ on the way UNSOLD.(as of yesterday) It's worth stopping in for a bite to eat at the diner and see a 1974 FJ, Lambo, Buick Grand national, several Corvette pace cars, several porsches, harleys, old chargerf, old MR2s, 1974 toyota sedan. That have some cool stuff there.

Sounds like a really cool place to visit!

But how will all that neat stuff affect the pricing on their inventory? That stuff sounds expensive!

just noticed that my dealer here in charleston is an authorized dealer for RevTek....did Toyota and RevTek work a deal together or is it a local dealership that understands these will be taken off road and helping out?

usually if the aftermarket components are installed at the dealership that dealer will honor any warrenty that was in place at time of purchase.

I.E. the Yenko Camaro or Nova
