I read some posts on this site where people were describing how to make cooler trays by modifying other products.
I used to do this too, until I decided to manufacture them.
My first model is currently for sale on eBay.
I am selling a NEW tray that fits inside a 28 quart Coleman brand cooler.
You can buy the cooler from various retailers, as well as eBay, but not from me.
(Btw, the cooler itself has a great design because the lid is hinged, yet removable, and the handle allows carrying wih one hand. It is the perfect size to serve one or two people.)
The cooler may go by any of these model #'s: 6277/6278, 6278-718G, 6278-703G, 6278-763, 6277-703G, 6277-718G.
If you think you already own one of these coolers, you can find the model # by looking on the underside.
It will fit models with molded side handles as well as models with a bail handle.
The problem with almost all coolers, is that when the ice begins to melt, everything inside is subject to getting wet.
Now you can place items that you want to keep dry (or keep from getting damaged by bottles and the like) in the tray.
Items such as eggs, sandwiches, cheeses, zip-locked or packaged meats, deserts, or delicate fruits and vegetables, remain safe and dry.
Some people like to keep fishing bait in the tray.
The head room in the lid of the cooler allows items up to 3" high to be placed in the tray. Long necked beer bottles can stand upright below the tray with the tray in place.
The two finger holes on either side of the tray permit easy insertion and removal of the tray from the cooler.
The tray measures approximately 1 1/8" x 9 3/16" x 17 3/16" (2.8 cm x 23.4 cm x 43.7 cm) and weighs 0.77 lb. (0.35 kg).
It is made from very durable white polystyrene plastic that will not crack or shatter when cold.
If you are interested, and would like to see lots of high res images of what I described above, follow the link below to my eBay listing, search for item#141083387793, or search for the title of this post.
