I got the news from the body shop where the pig is holed up, that the pop riveted aluminum panels on the front fenders were hiding major damage/rust. No real surprise but they thought they could fab some new metal and be done with it. Now its going to be cheaper to buy new ones :crybaby: . PVCruisers web site originally said mid August for repo fenders, but now is December. I can't wait, so the question is has anyone used the SOR fiberglass 55 fenders. If so, how was the fit/quality ? Good news is they were able to get the hood almost perfect, so now i can quit looking for one. The rear quarters are another story !

I hear the F G fenders are nice and light paitable and prone to fraction instead of bending like steel. However it will never rust on you
Keep in mind I have never had a F G fender for truck/offroad use

I would imagine a fiberglass fender would be an exact replica of the metal ones, besides maybe some mounting tabs. I'm sure they are great for pure restoration, but for offroad, mmm. Imagine that pig resting firmly on a rock, pivoting on the fender, but then again, fiberglass repair isn't too hard.

Another option is eshan. He is making repo steel fenders. Only downfall is he is in Pakistan, so if you need them yesterday its not going to happen.
Then again you could make some tube fenders. This would be good if it was going to be a true offroad vehicle, not so good for a resto.
