Good day folks
My 96 Prado 1kzte when putting into Drive or reverse, feel a little bit jerky/shakey motion going on. What could caused this issue? I recently drain and refilled the transmission fluid. Did not fix this issue. Any idea?or it's just because she is "Old"?

Mine shifts between drive and reverse harder than I'd like too. I think that's a consequence of the softer vibration damping engine and transmission mounts, letting the drivetrain shift a bit more than we're used to. My 617 had a tiny shock absorber on the engine when it was mounted in the original vehicle.

Any clunk or clang when shifting? If so, check your u-joints. Maybe check them anyway.

Thanks for the insight.
no. don't have any clunk or Clang. Just jerk forward a little or backward a little depends which gear is selected in.i will take a look at the U-joints.

Just changed the transmission fluid on mine, it helped the shifting quite a lot all the way around. Shifting between D and R got a lot smoother, and also between forward gears when moving. I didn't have a pan gasket or filter on hand, so I used a vacuum fluid extractor to drain via dipstick tube. 85k miles on mine, that might have been the factory transmission fluid. Seems much happier now with fresh fluid.
