I asked this question about the front and rear diff. Now I need to know where the drain plug and fill is for the transfer case. Do I need to remove the small skid plate for the drain plug. Pictures would be the best for me. 93 LC locked.

Yes you do. (of course, you can also remove all but one at front. Loosen the only one left so that you can rotate the skip plate out of the way). Anyway, keep in mind to remove the fill plug first before the drain plug...

hmm, i didnt remove mine but also didnt use the bolt on the bottom.

<- running out to truck now!

HF2A and HF2AV. Only difference, as far as I know is, the viscous coupler. Should be the same drain plugs.
It’s already been stated, but it can’t hurt to emphasize again... make sure you can get the fill plug out BEFORE you drain it! Some have had some hellish stories. Draining it, then not being able to get the full plug out.

Thanks for confirming, I pulled the fill plug to check level and lots of gear oil was coming out, wanted to be sure I shouldn't fill from a different spot.

Thanks Mud!
